Goan Rice Kheer

 Goan Rice Kheer          

INGREDIENTS:

Basmati Rice:1/2 cup
Sweetened Condensed Milk:1 tin (400 gm)
Water:500ml
Cardamom Powder:1tsp
Raisins:as per taste (optional)
Almonds(sliced):as per taste (optional)
Cashew Nuts (cut into small pieces):as per taste (optional)
Saffron:a few strands 


METHOD OF PREPARATION:

1. Put the saffron in 2-3 tbsp warm milk and keep aside.
2.soak Basmati  Rice in sufficient water for 1/2 hour . 
3.Boil sufficient water.Add rice to it and let cook till dine . drain the excess water and keep cooked rice aside .
4.in a thick deep bottomed pan , boil together the 500 ml water , sweetened condensed milk and rice on low beat .
5.Add cardamom powder ,raisins,almonds,cashew nuts and saffron to the kheer and mix well.
6.Serve hoyor cold as per taste.
